The Holidays were good!

This was one Holiday season I didn't expect to be so busy, turns out I was wrong everybody stopped in to visit my Mother so in good visitor fashion they bought us stuff things started when I traded a old army tent to a friend then my cousin built me a laptop, got me 17" monitor for the desk top, wireless router and stuff to go with it, SO MUCH FOOD!! now you ask what does this have to do with open carry? Okay what did I give, being a little broke this year I shared my home canned corn relish and water melon pickles with friends and family and the shooters got empty brass for reloading .22 ammo primers and lead for bullet casting the girls got dish towels from Mom all in decorated boxes. what little shopping I did was accompanied by my .45 of the only two who noticed one was a little girl no more than eight years of age "look daddy he has a gun like yours" and a sixty two year old retired law man "How do you like that HI-POINT son?" I hope your holidays were good as well.

Crash goes the computer

last month my computer started to slow way down so I did a scan and thought this would take care of the problem , ya right lost my whole hard drive and am just now getting everything back don't know where I picked up the problem but I sure did. The worst part of this is it took away range time.

IKEA says guns are bad

It has been a while since I last posted and it looks like we have a new campaign it's called the IKEA hates my gun so let us not give them any of our money. this comes about after some one posted on Open Carry forum about an over the top encounter in one of their stores in Michigan. Anti gun companies take note we are no longer going to roll over and take it from you prepare to lose money and possibly go under.

well it's been a while but there are a couple of subjects to touch on first, SAVE A LOT has changed it's firearm in store policy to allow what state law allows this is a huge win in the private sector. score another victory for Michigan Open Carry!.
The next item is the Second Amendment March you will find a link to them in other gun people. Last Saturday I got to hear the founder speak at the Eaton Rapids Conservation Club and he did a great job of laying out what we need to do to protect all our rights I encourage everyone to get on board with this.

Until next time, Let the Gun be your constant companion on your walks.

Range Time at last !

Yesterdays trip was a lot of fun, I arrived at the range and waited for the line to clear to hang targets as I was unpacking I looked and saw other people were carrying some very nice arms and I got the usual remarks you will never hit with that sewer pipe, that Hi-Point will blow up than I proceeded to out shoot them and their wonder guns .
How did this happen ? simple practice and lots of it. My Instructor always told me a pro does not practice until he gets it right, he practices until he can't get it wrong. This means a hundred rounds a trip minimum at least twice a month for me.
How do I afford this ? I cast my own bullets and hand load it is cheaper and allows me some alone time.

A good store encounter

Had to get some charcoal today and strapped on the gun belt this particular store is good with open carry so no problem there . Got looked over by one guy ( hope it was that I was carrying ). on my way out a lady stopped me and asked about the firearm , my first thought was here we go again to my surprise she asked why I choose the firearm I did and did I need a license . seems she is new to Michigan and wants to carry here . I gave her a pamphlet from Michigan open carry and we talked for about fifteen minutes or so . word is starting to spread about open carry being legal in Michigan .

Say goodbye to my money

here is the response I got from save a lot on my inquiry about lawful carry in their stores .
Mr. Ray in response to your complaint about being asked to leave our Lansing store location for carrying a firearm, it is and has always been our stance with our stores that we do not allow firearms in our facilities under any circumstances. We do have the right as a private business to ask anyone violating this policy to leave our property immediately. Very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we welcome you to continue shopping at our store.
